NWS confirms tornado in Crain, IL

CRAIN, IL (KFVS) - The National Weather Service confirms an EF0 tornado in Crain, Illinois.

It came through at 4:31 p.m. CDT Wednesday about two miles southwest of Crain.  That's about 11 miles west of Murphysboro.

Winds peaked at 85 mph.  The National Weather Service says the path of the tornado was 50 yards wide and 1.8 miles long.

No one was injured.

The NWS heard from two eyewitnesses.

The rood was partially blown off a small farm shed.  A house had minor damage to the roof and siding.  Power lines were blown down.  Three signs were blown over.  One large tree and several small trees were blown over as well.
