JOHNSTON CITY, IL (KFVS) - Johnston City's fire chief has been relieved of his position and placed on administrative leave after a failed audit of the fire department.

A letter from Director of Public Safety Ray Miller says the results of a department-wide internal investigation found alleged official misconduct and financial mismanagement by Girolamo M. Intravaia.

Beginning March 25, Intravaia was placed on 30 days paid administrative leave.

He is not allowed to visit any fire department facilities or contact and employees with the department other than immediate family members without Mileur's permission during that time.
