HOUSE SPRINGS, MO (KFVS) - Police caught and identified the suspect involved in a shooting in House Springs Thursday morning as Thomas J. McCarville.

Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer said in a press release McCarville was stopped outside of Indianapolis by the Indiana State Police on Thursday for an unrelated traffic violation.  He was arrested and as of Friday was still in Indiana awaiting extradition.

McCarville was charged with first degree assault, armed criminal action and first degree tampering with a vehicle.

The shooting occurred in the 4000 block of Carol Park Road.  When deputies arrived on the scene they reportedly learned the son, McCarville, had shot his father in the legs after an argument.

McCarville fled the scene in a green 1997 Ford truck.

The father was recovering at an area hospital.
