MARION, IL (KFVS)- Spring is just around the corner and that means it's time to get working on all those projects around the house we've been putting off all winter long.

There's no better place to find some ideas and get some help with your projects then at the Home Show in Marion.

"We're adding on a room to our house. And it's gone from a small addition to replacing all the appliances,"said Chad Morgenthaler of Coulterville.

"So we're here to get some hands on experience on the latest appliances out there, the flooring and the counter tops."

But, some people at the show were looking at ways to save on their energy costs, instead of renovating they want to update their heating and cooling units.

"I was checking on some windows. And also looking at wood burning stoves and fireplaces," said Mark Hurley of Herrin.

"To try to save some energy and be less dependent on utilities."

For some of the people looking at new units for their homes it was much more then just saving energy that had them interested in what the vendors were offering.

"On heating pumps you get more on a rebate. Some companies are giving up to $1,350.00 depending on what you put in," said Lori Brewer of Johnston City.

"The higher the efficiency of the unit, the higher the rebate they're offering. So I want to get it done now."

Thousands of people from across the region took advantage of the Home Show, which wrapped up on Sunday afternoon at the Williamson County Pavillion.
