Second Tuesday tremor reported in Southeast Missouri

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - A second, very minor earthquake was detected by the U.S. Geological Survey just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the USGS website.

The 1.6 tremor was centered two miles SSW from Anniston, MO, according to the USGS, and occurred precisely at 5:59:47 p.m.  The center was three miles ENE from East Prairie, five miles NW of Pinhook, MO, and 15 miles from Sikeston.  No damage or injuries were reported.

Tuesday's first quake was measured at 3.7 and occurred at 1:37 p.m.  It was centered in about the same spot, but the center was closer to East Prairie.
