Long School Days
By CJ Cassidy
(Paducah, KY)--Making up for two days lost thanks to Old Man Winter. That's what teachers and administrators at Paducah Public Schools are trying to do.
Starting Monday, students at all Public schools in the area will put in 72 extra minutes a day for two weeks.
Administrators say making up time now helps students a lot more in gaining an academic edge than if they were to try and make those days up this Summer. They say students are more focused this time of year, especially because it lets them get some much needed work done towards May exams.
One added benefit... teachers won't be assigning any homework to students for the next two weeks... so they can spend some extra time in the evenings with their families.
Of course students will still have to make up three more days they lost, this Summer.
