The Heartland woman accused of killing Alexander Counties Assistant State's Attorney, is guilty. The Williamson County jury deliberated for nearly 5 hours on Tuesday before returning with their guilty verdict against Sharonda Miller.
Miller's First Degree Murder conviction could put her behind bars for more then 60 years. The jury's decision was a relief for Steven Jett's mother. " I knew in my heart that, that was the way it was going to turn out," says Joyce Jett. "I'm going to remember Steven as the man he was, not the way they made him out to be in court.
He loved Christmas, he'd come up on Christmas Eve and I would have dinner ready. We would open gifts. I won't have that anymore, nothing is ever going to be the same again," Jett said.
Judge Speroni revoked Miller's bond, and now must decide if he'll sentence Miller to the maximum of 60 years in prison. The judge must also decide if Miller's sentencing will be served concurrently or consecutively to an 11 year sentence Miller is all ready serving on a Federal drug conviction last year.
