ST. MARY, MO (KFVS) - Investigators spent most of the day Thursday searching a wooded property off Highway 61 in Ste. Genevieve County. They say they are looking for evidence pertaining to a case out of St. Louis County.
Neighbors say rumors are rampant through that police were searching for bodies, but St. Louis County Police say there is absolutely no evidence there are any bodies buried on that piece of land.
The property currently belongs to a business out of Ste. Genevieve but neighbors say before that a local man lived there for several years, before the trailer he lived in burned down.

They say they spotted him pointing out areas of the property to investigators but police would not comment on who he is.

Investigators also brought in a backhoe to dig the property, and neighbors who shimmied up trees to get a better look, say they spotted police taking photographs inside a deep hole.
