Man gets life in prison for murder in Kennett

Kennett, MO (KFVS) -- The man accused of killing a Kennett woman will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Earlier this week Cleveland Pulliam entered an alford plea to the charges of second degree murder and armed criminal action.

Pulliam was headed to trial for the May 2008 murder of Jacquline Farmer.  A family member found Farmer's body inside her home.  Investigators say she had been beaten and stabbed to death.

Prosecutors say if the case had gone to trial Pulliam could have gotten the death penalty.
