CRITTENDEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is now helping to search for a missing Indiana boater.

He disappeared late Wednesday night when his 12-foot John boat tipped over along the shore of Crittenden County, Kentucky in the Ohio River.

A ferry crew rescued another man who remains hospitalized Friday morning.

The two were apparently night fishing on the river when their boat sank.  Neither was wearing a life jacket, but the man who was rescued managed to grab one as he fell into the water.

One man was rescued after a worker with the Cave-in-Rock Ferry was moving barges around midnight, according to Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.  Todd says when they idled their engines to tie off a barge, crew members heard screaming across the river.  One man was found covered in mud on the Kentucky shore.  He was taken to the LaFarge Quarry Dock where workers wrapped him in blankets and called an ambulance.
The Crittenden County Sheriff's Office and Rescue Squad, Hardin County, IL, Rescue Squad, and the Coast Guard are searching for the missing man.
