Good Monday morning!
Wow - it's cold outside this morning - at least at 3:30 this morning. But not too cold to leave the bike at home - you can always dress for the cold. But Brian's saying it will be warming up a bit today - maybe into the 60's. We'll be talking a lot about today's weather and the outlook for the week this morning on The Breakfast Show.
It's not all weather talk this morning - General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner is stepping down immediately at the request of the White House. It's part of the bailout plan they agreed to earlier.
And speaking of the economy - tomorrow (Tuesday) there is a big job fair happening from 9am to 6pm at the Robert Cherry Civic Center, 2701 Park Avenue, in Paducah. This is for Harrah's Metropolis Casino & Hotel - they are looking to fill nearly 50 full and part-time positions.
This morning we're also taking a close look at a local hospital in Doniphan that's struggling to stay in business - so much so that U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson visited this weekend to see what could be done to help.
And if you're looking for a job during these tough times - think twice before responding to those "work-at-home" ads you see in local papers. On The Breakfast Show we'll be showing you how you can be taken for an expensive ride if you're not careful. And with this one - if you snooze-you lose ... because we're talking about this story around 5:45 this morning.
Now - we're also talking about much happier topics this morning. Around 6:15 master gardener Paul Schnare joins us live in the studio to answer your questions. And then we're taking you to what I'll just call the fungus factory in Kansas City, Missouri - this is one of those stories you just have to watch to appreciate.
So as you're getting ready to start the day - turn on The Breakfast Show and we'll put a smile on your face and hopefully get your day started right. And remember - if you want to tell us something send Lauren, Jim or Brian anytime to email@example.com.
