Portageville, Scott County Central compete for state title

COLUMBIA, MO (KFVS) - Portageville and Scott County Central win in the semi-finals and will fight for a state title in the Missouri Show-Me Showdown.

The Portageville Bulldogs are on their way to the Class 2 State Championship game. Portageville defeated Miller 60-53 in the state semifinal Thursday in Columbia. The 25-3 Bulldogs were led in scoring by Donnell Minnis with 14 points. Portageville will now play Harrisburg in the state final Friday at 12:20 p.m.

Scott County Central head coach Ronnie Cookson will go for his 13th state championship Saturday. The Braves defeated Glasgow in the Class 1 State Semifinal Thursday in Columbia. Scott County Central was led in scoring by Drew Thomas with 31 points and Otto Porter with 14. The Braves will now play Newtown-Harris Saturday at 12:20 p.m. for the title.
