CARTER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Jury selection is underway in Carter County.
Lance Shockley is headed to trial nearly four years after police say he gunned down a Missouri state trooper.
He's accused of killing Sergeant Dewayne Graham outside Graham's Van Buren home in 2005.
Prosecutors say Shockley's motive was to stop Graham from going forward with an investigation of a hit and run crash involving Shockley.
While jury selection started Wednesday, the actual trial takes place in Howell County.
Opening statements are not expected until Monday in West Plains.
