Abortion bill remains stalled in Kentucky House

By Heartland News

FRANKFORT, KY. (KFVS/AP) - Lawmakers are having trouble with a bill that would require doctors to show Kentucky Women an ultrasound image of their fetus before having an abortion

A parliamentary move to pull the bill out of a House committee was ruled out of order Thursday by House Speaker Greg Stumbo.

There was no challenge to Stumbo's ruling.

The bill passed through the Senate in January 2010, and last month it stalled in an even vote in the House Health and Welfare Committee.

Republican's say said it would be insufficient to challenge the bill because many lawmakers  left at the end of the House session.
