CHRISTOPHER, IL (KFVS) - Police surround a house in Christopher, Illinois after they say a man fired several shots at a man there to repossess his car.
Police tell us this started around 6:30 p.m. Monday at 805 S. Snider street.
Investigators say a repossession team went to 62-year-old Benard Flerage's home to repossess his car. Officers say Flerage walked outside and fired several shots but did not hit anyone.
Police say Flerage then went back inside his home and would not come out.
Members of the Christopher police department along with help from the Illinois State Police set up a perimeter around the house and waited for the man to come out.
He eventually surrendered peacefully around 9:30p.m. Monday night with the help of the Jefferson County sheriff. No one was hurt.
Flerage requested to be taken to the Marion VA to be checked out.
Charges against Flerage are pending.
