Cape Girardeau travel agent gets calls on travel to Mexico

By Heartland News

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Most travel agencies in the Heartland and across the country  received calls on traveling to northern Mexico.

Cape Girardeau travel consultant Carolyn Kempf, with Elite Travel, says she is hearing from customers wanting to travel to areas not included in the warning.

"A lot of people want to drive down to cross the border towns for Spring Break," said Kempf.  "And those are the places you don't want to go.  So, most of the places that you fly to, you're not going to have any issues."

Kempf adds that the best thing we can do is "educate ourselves" before taking any trip.
