The recent snow storm that hit Missouri brought with it up to 9 inches of snow or more in certain parts. In the Heartland, St. Francois County and Ste. Genevieve County were hit with many inches as well which caused havoc on drivers needing to get where they were going.
Dozens of firefighters from departments in Jefferson County, Washington County, Wayne County and Marion County came together as part of the Illinois Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division 47 to participate in the public safety exercise.
Several areas in Southern Illinois are feeling the effects of the government shutdown. Those areas include, but aren’t limited to, the Shawnee National Forest, Mark Twain National Forest and the Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge.
