About half of the states have made the decision to expand Medicaid. Missouri lawmakers are currently debating the matter in Jefferson City. How will what legislators decide impact the state, and those currently living without health insurance?

Man Rollerblades Across Country
By: Holly Brantley

DEXTER, Mo. - Did you catch a glimpse of a guy on roller blades on the highways of southeast Missouri Wednesday?  We did, and we had to find out what he was up to.

We caught up with him in Dexter, and turns out, that's about one third of the way through quite a journey for Jack Sisson.  He's roller blading 3800 miles from Yorktown, Virginia to San Francisco, California.

"I'm skating across the country to raise awareness and funds for Action Against Hunger," said Sisson.

Sisson says it's something he's always wanted to do.  He averages more than 80 miles on a good day.  The Heartland marks about 1000 miles into his cross-country trip.  He estimates it will take about three months.  So far, he says the hardest part is dealing with the wind and replacing the wheels on his roller blades.  He says they take quite a beating.

"You can see they are very worn.  I just rotated so they don't look that bad.  They last 400 or 500 miles.  I'm shipping them to myself," Sisson said.

From here he's off through the rest of southern Missouri, and Kansas, then on to Colorado.  So, next question, what happens when he makes it to California?

"I'm flying back," said Sisson.

Sisson is from New Canaan, Connecticut.  He'll start his senior year at Dartmouth College next year.  He spent more of 2008 training for the adventure.
