CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

More than 50 Boy Scouts from southeast Missouri and southern Illinois were recognized Saturday at a ceremony at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.

The Scouts earned their Eagle Rank during 2012, the 100th anniversary of the first Eagle award.

Today's Scouts must earn 21 merit badges, complete several intermediate ranks and perform community service to earn the rank.

Council Executive Ron Green commented on their accomplishment.
