LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky has announced that freshman forward Marcus Lee will return for his sophomore season, joining sophomore center Willie Cauley-Stein in bypassing the NBA draft for another year with the Wildcats. Guard James Young announced Thursday that he will enter the NBA draft.

CHICAGO (AP) - Alfredo Simon lowered his ERA to 0.86, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 4-1 yesterday for their 16th win in their last 17 games at Wrigley Field. Making his third start, Simon (2-1) allowed an unearned run in six-plus innings and sent the Cubs to their fifth straight loss.

CHICAGO (AP) - Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman has been cleared to throw batting practice for the first time since he was hit in the face by a line drive March 19. Chapman sustained fractures of his nose and a bone above his left eye when hit by the drive off the bat of Kansas City's Salvador Perez.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Student-athletes who seek transfers due to "difficult life circumstances" might have to sit out a season but gain an extra year of eligibility starting in 2015-16. The NCAA says the proposed change would give athletes a year to focus on academics and the circumstance that led them to seek a transfer.
