FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Democrats have held on to a seat in the state Senate while Republicans were in the lead in a House race Tuesday night. Democrat Reggie Thomas will replace former Democratic Sen. Kathy Stein who resigned her 13th District seat in Lexington after being appointed to a judicial position.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky utility regulators are revisiting a portion of their decision adjusting revenue and rates for Big Rivers Electric Corp. to offset the loss of its largest customer. The issue to be reviewed deals with calculating revenue Big Rivers will receive from the continued operation of its Coleman plant.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky wildlife officials say a small number of whooping cranes has shown up in the state. Wildlife biologist have confirmed the presence of five of the birds in Hopkins County and received a report of a sixth bird in Barren County. Whooping cranes are a federally endangered bird.
PETERSBURG, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky museum that promotes a literal telling of the history of the Bible is offering free admission to children in 2014. The free admission to the Creation Museum is for children 12 and under and lasts the entire year.
