MALDEN, MO (KFVS) - Victims are speaking out after a Dunklin County man is charged with invasion of privacy and child pornography.

Joseph Layland Junior, 36, was arraigned Tuesday morning.

According to Layland's mother, Diane Cowell, Layland operates DJ's Tan and Tone.

According to probable cause records, an alleged victim noticed a 1/4 hole in the wall of the tanning salon that tipped off police.

Now, other women say they are among dozens.

"There's a lot more women," said Krista Cullum. "It's not just Malden. We came from everywhere, Gideon, Risco, Campbell, because of the price."

Cullum was among more than 100 women that met with Malden police to discuss the situation Saturday night.

"Now looking back I should have known," said Cullum. "He would post things on Facebook like 'You bed misses you.' It's disgusting."

Police and prosecutors say Layland's case is the biggest in Malden's history and could end up being one of the largest in the state.

"It's disturbing," said Dunklin County Prosecutor Stephen Sokoloff. "I can't speak for the state in terms of how large this child porn case is, but it will be one of the biggest ever in the area."

Authorities are investigating 444 DVDs, more than 100 VHS tapes, and other items seized from Layland's home Monday morning.

Police also took 18-20 hours of surveillance video from the salon.

"It boggles the mind," said Sokoloff.

Layland Jr. faces 10 charges after police found surveillance video of customers in a tanning booth at his tanning salon and child porn.

He is charged with four counts of the Class B felony of possession of child pornography, and six counts of the Class D felony of invasion of privacy.

Class B felonies can carry a sentence of five to 15 years.  Class D felonies can carry four years each.

Layland was taken to the Dunklin County jail on $500,000 cash only bond.

Layland made his first court appearance on February, 22nd. He is scheduled back in court on March 1st. The salon is closed.

Layland's mother says she had no idea anything was going on.

"My heart goes out to all of the clients affected," said Diane Cowell. "I had no idea any of this was going on. If I had, I would have stopped it."
