PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah man is behind bars on drug charges after an early Saturday morning police raid on his home.

Paducah police say they got a tip that there was illegal drug activity going on at a home on the 1400 block of Walter Jetton Boulevard.

Officers got a search warrant and went to the home. Inside they found 37-year-old Shomari Reed, his wife, three children, and 14 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,400.

Police also confiscated reed's cell phone, a police scanner, $331 in cash and a 2006 Dodge Charger.

Officers believe the car may have been paid for will proceeds from drug sales and was used to transport or sell drugs.

Reed's now in the McCracken County Jail. He faces a charge of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance. This is his second drug related-offense.

Reed also faces a charge of possessing a radio capable of sending or receiving police messages.

Reed's wife was not charged.
