GOREVILLE, IL (KFVS) - A man from Japan riding in a homemade bamboo experimental bicycle was hit by a car Friday morning.
It happened at 7:42 a.m. on Tunnel Hill Road just east of Gore Canyon Road, southeast of Goreville.
A black 2006 Nissan Xterra driven by 35-year-old Heather B. Dailey hit 33-year-old Takashi Matsumoto of Tokyo, Japan. He was knocked into a ditch area and sustained a mild concussion. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound.
Matsumoto was taken by Johnson County Ambulance to Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

A fire in Oran destroyed a 2-story house on Tuesday morning. According to the Oran Fire Department, it happened at 4:05 a.m. at 907 highway W, which is right in the middle of town. Firefighters
