Carterville, IL – Contractors, engineers, architects, local health and code officials will attend a one-day workshop at John A. Logan College Tuesday on environmental rule changes in construction.
The event will be held Tuesday, February 9 at John A. Logan College in room F103 in Carterville, Illinois.
The workshop will provide information on changes to environmental regulations impacting the construction and demolition industries. Workshop topics include incentives for energy efficiency, proper debris disposal, radon, asbestos, and flood plain requirements. There will also be a presentation on the new U.S. EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule that takes effect in April 2010.
"Workshops such as these are not only beneficial for attendees but for the communities these construction industry professionals work and live in," said Illinois EPA Director Doug Scott. "This is an incredible opportunity for large and small businesses to come together and learn from one another about the importance of proper construction and environmental practices."
The course is eligible for continuing education credits for architects, professional engineers and radon professionals.
