by Heartland News

ORAN, MO (KFVS) - An Oran man faces charges in connection with dumped mail found along the Diversion Channel in November 2009.

US Postal Service investigators arrested 25-year-old Lance Kinder on a single felony count of Delaying or Destroying Mail.

A local man and his son found this mail along the Diversion Channel last Thanksgiving.

Federal authorities tell Heartland News they found between 600 and 1,000 pieces of mail that should have been delivered to people living in Sikeston, Dexter, Kennett, New Madrid, Hayti, Caruthersville and Jackson.

Kinder is described as a Transitional Postal Employee. He made his first appearance before a federal judge Tuesday afternoon.
