PINCKNEYVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Deputies with the Perry County Sheriff's Department arrested two people on meth charges after performing a welfare check.

Perry County Sheriff Keith Kellerman said his deputies had been asked to check on 32-year-old Bambi Stell because she had been missing for several days. When deputies arrived at the home Thursday night, they found an operating meth lab.

Deputies arrested Stell and the homeowner, 30-year-old Herman Sims. Both face a charge of participation in meth manufacturing. Sims and Stell remain in the Perry County Jail.

Sheriff Kellerman said the two could also faces charges of possession of anhydrous ammonia with the intent to manufacture meth, possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unauthorized container, and possession of meth. Those charges may be enhanced because the home is close to a church, according to Kellerman.
