Alto Pass, IL (KFVS) - Fire crews battled a massive blaze late Saturday night at a home near Alto Pass.
A passerby called 9-11 they saw flames coming out of the residence at 1410 Skyline Drive just after 8 p.m.
Cobden and Alto Pass Fire Departments responded to the call. When fire crews arrived the home was fully engulfed.
Deputies say when they responded to the scene, they could see a glow in the sky and flames shooting into the air from quite a distance away.
Firefighters were still on scene at 1:30 a.m. working to get the blaze under control.
The family who lives in the home was reportedly out of town when the fire started.
No word on what caused the blaze, but officials say it appears the home is a total loss. No one was injured.

A Madisonville man has been indicted after investigators say his wife was eaten by maggots as she lay in her bed dying.
Authorities say 18 year old Benjamin Ingram of Enfield, Illinois and 16 year old Taylor Cokley also of Enfield, IL died as a result of injuries they sustained in the crash.
