BENTON, IL (KFVS) - The second of two suspects accused of shooting and killing two women in West Frankfort makes his first court appearance in Southern Illinois.
Michael Schallert was recently returned to Franklin county from Colorado. He appeared in court Monday morning to hear the charges against him. According to court documents, Schallert faces two counts of first degree murder in the October deaths of Terri Siebeck and Kandis Majors.
Schallert also faces two counts of armed robbery and two counts of home invasion. He remains in the Franklin County jail on two million dollars bond. He'll be back in court November 30th for a preliminary hearing.
The other suspect that also faces murder charges in the two women's death, Afton Ferris, will return to court on December 4th for her arraignment.
