CARTER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the death of a 19-year-old man from Holcomb, Missouri early Monday morning.

The patrol reports Jakeb Burgess was killed when he was thrown from the truck he was driving. The patrol says Burgess was driving a 2005 GMC truck on Route E about 1 1/2 miles west of Hunter at 12:45 Monday morning when the truck went off the road, was overcorrected, overturned and went off the left side of the road.

According to the crash report, the truck came to a stop on its roof. The driver, Burgess, and a passenger, 36-year-old Jeffery Dye of Holcomb were thrown from the truck. Another passenger, 22-year-old Megan Mixon of Kennett stayed inside the truck. Both passengers received moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

The Highway Patrol report indicates none of the occupants were wearing safety devices.
