Good Morning
Today is Tuesday, November 3
This morning we're still watching the rising Mississippi River. There's some good news for anyone who may be affected by the high water - the forecasted crest has been lowered to 39.5 feet on Wednesday - that's almost 2 feet lower than the forecasted crest published yesterday.
This morning we also have another school closing down for the rest of the week. According to Southern Reynolds County superintendent Mike Redlich almost 25% of his students were out and showing symptoms of type A flu. You can see the current school closings any time of the day by going to our closings web page.
On The Breakfast Show this morning we're also talking about a couple of health stories you will find interesting. Diet drinks can lead to kidney failure - at least according to some new research about the high salt content of diet sodas. Also this morning around 6:15 we'll be telling you about a new hair laser treatment that might help people keep and grow the hair they still have.
Looking ahead to the day - on capitol hill, lawmakers are moving toward approving another economic relief bill that extends benefits to the jobless and expands a first-time home buyer tax credit.
Tonight on Heartland News at Five Christy Hendricks will be telling us about the five charges you never want to put onto your credit card. I wonder if that $.95 cup of coffee from the gas station this morning is one of them.
See you tomorrow - and till then be sure to tune in when you can at noon, 5, 6 or 10 and anytime online at kfvs12.com
Oh - and Brian says, "you're welcome." Guess he's talking about another really nice day outside. I guess we can give him a pat on the back for the week so far.
