ELLINGTON, MO (KFVS) - Southern Reynolds County R-II schools in Ellington are closed the remainder of the week, according to superintendent Mike Redlich. Redlich said the decision came based on the number of students who had been absent with Type A flu symptoms.
The closure affects approximately 525 students in preschool through grade 12, Redlich said.
Redlich said a number of students began missing school last Wednesday, and on Monday only about 74% of students in the district showed up for classes.
Despite the closing, Redlich said the H1N1 flu vaccine clinic scheduled for Tuesday will still be held in the elementary school nurse's office from 9-11 a.m.
