JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The doors at the first H1N1 flu clinic in Jackson County closed around five Friday night.  Throughout the day dozens lined up to get a dose of the vaccine at the Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale.  However, not all who showed up got a shot.  That's because the Jackson County Health.

"If you are not in one of those five risk groups you may be turned away and asked to come at a later time," said Director of Health Education Angie Bailey.  "The real priority is to get the vaccine in those who are most vulnerable and to especially vaccinate the children that are nine years of age or under."

Bailey adds children nine or under must receive two H1N1 shots about 28 days apart.

The at-risk group includes pregnant women, those six months to 24 years old, people who are 25 to 64 years old with certain medical conditions, health care and emergency medical service employees and those who live with or provide care to children 6 months or younger.

Bailey says they will offer H1N1 shots to those not in the high-risk group in the coming months.
