PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Kentucky State Police say a fugitive wanted by the FBI and U.S. Marshals was captured in Paducah around 11:45 p.m. Thursday.
After a search, Scott A. Herman, 41, was found and taken into custody in a field off of Husband Road and Interstate 24. State police said Herman was taken to McCracken County Regional Jail in Paducah.
Herman faces charges of giving an officer a false name and second-degree fleeing and evading. Fugitive charges were pending, state police said.
State police said Herman was wanted by the FBI and U.S. Marshals for escape, but investigators had no further details.
According to state police, a trooper attempted to assist a stranded motorist around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 24 at the 13.5 mile marker. As the trooper approached the area, the presumed driver ran away.
Authorities soon determined Herman was the motorist.
State police canine units, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and Paducah Police assisted in Herman's arrest.
