Cape police question person of interest in rape case

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Cape Girardeau police have reportedly questioned a person of interst in a recent rape case.

Police tell Heartland News the victim reported the rape Thursday morning.  She claimed a man forced her into his vehicle at knifepoint around midnight while she was walking near the 300 block of South Ellis.

According to the victim, the man drove her across the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge into Alexander County, IL, raped her, threw her out of the car, then drove back into Cape Girardeau. The victim says she walked back to Cape Girardeau, where she flagged down a police officer.

Police previously said they were looking for a large white man with three-to-four inch long brown hair. The suspect was said to be driving a light-colored station wagon with wood grained paneling.
