BISMARCK, MO (KFVS) - While many people are still cleaning up from last Friday's storm, another round of severe weather caused even more damage.
Strong overnight winds tore apart several buildings in the Bismarck area, including a pre-school.
No injuries have been reported in St. Francois County after this latest round of storms. The timing of the storm may have saved lives.
The roof was completely ripped off a preschool in Bismarck. The storm rolled through the area about 1 a.m. Thursday. Superintendent Damon Gamble tells Heartland News he's very thankful the storm didn't hit seven hours later when the school would have been filled with three and four-year-olds.
There is only one week of school left and he says summer will be dedicated to rebuilding the preschool
The Pre K building isn't the only damage. Folks are also dealing with many downed trees and powers lines as well as other minor roof damage.
There are other buildings damaged around the St. Francois County town, including a local church. Some homes also lost shingles and there are trees down as well.
