Thanks to all of you who nominated your favorite teacher.  Special profiles on the 12 Heartland's Best Teachers are scheduled to air during Heartland News at Five starting May 4th. Watch the emotional and inspirational stories as we surprise these teachers in front of their families and students with the news that they've been selected as the Heartland's Best.

Behind every successful student stands a teacher who's made a difference. KFVS12 is proud to salute some of the Heartland's Best Teachers.  In fact, many of the Heartland Valedictorians we meet each year at our annual Heartland's Best banquet tell us that if it weren't for that one special teacher, they wouldn't have been as successful as they have become. They refer to a special teacher who meant so much that they will never forget. Over the years we've learned that the Heartland is full of wonderful, caring teachers; most of whom never get the recognition they deserve.

Nominations must be received at KFVS12 by close of business April 17th, 2008.
KFVS12 is not responsible for mailed, faxed, or e-mailed nominations being lost, damaged, or not received due to mail service, overloaded phone lines, or other technical problems.
No purchase necessary to enter
Promotion void where prohibited.
Selection of the 12 finalists made by a panel of judges representing the major regional universities and high schools.
ELIGIBILITY:
You or a family member must have been taught by the teacher you are nominating
You must be a legal citizen of the United States
Nominated teacher must be actively teaching during the 2008-2009 school year. Home schooling teachers are not eligible.
No substitution or transfer of prizes is permitted
Employees of KFVS12, sponsors, their subsidiaries, franchisees, affiliates or employees of advertising or service agencies or independent contractors are not eligible
Individuals engaged in the production, development, or distribution of materials or items for this promotion are not eligible.
Immediate family members of, or who reside in the same household as any person described above are not eligible.
All finalists and winners agree to allow KFVS12 on location to videotape a segment featuring the finalists and their students to air during a newscast
All finalists and winners agree to allow KFVS12 and the sponsors to use their name, voice, picture, and likeness on television and in any form of media for promotional purposes without compensation.
