Two teens killed in 2-vehicle crash; ISP investigating

Two teens killed in weekend crash in Alexander Co., IL

ALEXANDER COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Illinois State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash where two teens were killed and two adults were injured.

The crash was reported at 3:41 p.m. on Grapevine Trail Rd. near County Line Rd. in Alexander County on Sunday, April 14.

According to ISP, a 16-year-old female driver, traveling westbound, lost control of a 2005 Gray Toyota passenger car, crossed into the eastbound lane and hit an on-coming 2017 Gray Nissan Versa.

The 16-year-old, from Tamms, and her 15-year-old passenger, from Olive Branch, were killed in the crash.

The driver of the Nissan, 50-year-old Teresa Strong, of Metropolis, and her passenger, Sidney Strong, 20, also of Metropolis, were both injured in the crash. The women were taken to an out-of-state hospital for treatment of their injuries.

At the request of the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police were requested to investigate the crash.

ISP says the investigation is on-going.
