CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - On April 17 veterans and their families are invited to attend a town hall hosted by the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.
The meeting will be at VFW Post #3838 at 1049 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. It starts at 5 p.m. VA officials said cookies and coffee will be provided following the meeting at 5:30 p.m.
At this meeting, VA officials said veterans will get information about benefits and enable medical center management to gather feedback from patients, family members and the community.
Medical Center Director, Dr. Patricia Hall (U.S. Army, Col., Ret.) Hall said special guests will also be on hand.
“We are pleased to welcome the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Regional Office from St. Louis,” Hall said.
Hall said the Missouri Veterans Cemetery will explain cemetery benefits and the Cape Girardeau County Recorder Drew Blattner will be be available help veterans officially record their military release papers. There will be no charge for this service.
Hall said It is important that you bring your original DD-214 if you wish to have it recorded.
