Reports: Cardinals close to signing $130M extension with Goldschmidt

(KFVS) - According to a report from mlb.com, ESPN is reporting the St. Louis Cardinals are close to signing first baseman Paul Goldschmidt to a $130 million, five year extension.

The Cardinals traded for the 31-year-old, six-time all-star in December 2017 from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Goldschmidt is entering the final year of a six year contract and is eligible to become a free agent.
