Gov. Bevin visits Livingston County

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Gov. Matt Bevin visited Livingston County to get a look at sandbagging efforts.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, efforts to reinforce the Smithland floodwall made progress on Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Sandbaggers included: the Kentucky State Penitentiary Inmate Crew, jail work release volunteers, emergency management personnel, Army Corps of Engineers, Kentucky National Guard, Livingston County Road Department personnel and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet employees

Efforts to reinforce the Smithland Floodwall made good progress today. The nice weather provided some greatly improved working conditions. Volunteers, the Kentucky State Penitentiary Inmate Crew, jail work release volunteers, emergency management personnel, Army Corps of Engineers, Kentucky National Guard, Livingston County Road Department personnel and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet employees got a surprise visit from Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin who wanted to get a first-hand look and sandbagging efforts.
