Tracking rain moving through the Heartland this morning. Heavy rain may still be possible in our eastern counties with light rain tracking further west into southeast Missouri. Rain will diminish by the afternoon hours and clouds will start to break allowing sun to shine from west to east by sunset. High temperatures will range from the mid 40s to low 50s. Flood warnings have been issued for southeastern counties until the mid-morning with a flash flood watch issued for this same area until this afternoon.
We still have more rain in the forecast for this week. Light showers on Thursday are possible, rain on Friday afternoon and evening, and thunderstorms on Saturday. This will impact areas that are already dealing with flooding issues. We will need to monitor Saturday afternoon and evening closely for the chance of strong to severe storms.
Temperatures are looking to stay above average heaving into the next 7 days.
