Light to moderate rain is continuing to fall during the morning hours ahead of a cold front. Rain will start to exit the Heartland during the mid-morning. There is a small chance that some northwestern counties could see brief light snow, but no impacts are expected. During the afternoon, cool and dry air will move in and we will see sunshine from west to east as clouds will be moving out. Gusty winds will set up during the afternoon with gusts between 30-40mph. High temperatures will occur earlier this morning ranging from the low 40s to the low 50s, but they will be dropping rapidly through the day. Clear skies tonight will lead us back to having temperatures in the 20s.
Wednesday is going to be the prize day of the week with sunshine all day with temperatures in the 50s!
We are tracking another system that will likely bring rain back to the Heartland during Thursday and Friday with the possibility of even some snow.
