CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -Cape Girardeau County Rural Health clinic opened January 30 and has done major renovations. They have expanded their services for mothers and children.
The director, Jane Wernsman said the clinic primarily serves the pediatric and Woman’s population. They also provide primary healthcare for HIV and AIDS diagnoses, Hepatitis C screening, treatment, and healthcare travel services.
The clinic was established in 1996 and Wernsman said change is a good thing for the facility.
“As a staff and health center recognized that the facility needed a face-lift, and we all tend to feel lifted up and excited about those renovations," Wernsman said.
She said the staff is excited about how more efficient the facility has become.
“With the renovated clinic space, we feel that we have a little more streamlined area in order to provide the services, the primary healthcare, the flow of the clinic is a lot better, and really a lot better utilization of our space making the most efficient use of what we have," she said.
One of the changes to the facilities is the digital progression from filed folders to digital files online.
She said this helps the facility become more user-friendly.
