Stabbing under investigation in Benton, IL

BENTON, IL (KFVS) - Officials in Benton, Illinois said a stabbing victim is in stable condition after an incident Sunday, Feb. 10.

Benton Police Department officers said it happened at 5:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Depot Street.

According to police, they found 37-year-old male victim inside the residence with multiple stab wounds.

Officers said they took 34-year-old Dustin H. Keller of Benton into custody at the scene.

Keller has been charged with aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery.

First aid was given to the victim until the arrival of Benton Fire Rescue and Abbott EMS according to police.

It was reported that the two men lived together at the residence.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.

Keller is being held at the Franklin County Jail.
