Woman faces drug charges after single-vehicle crash in McCracken County, KY

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - One person is facing multiple drug charges after a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, Feb. 9.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, Destry Carter, 24, of Wickliffe, Ky. was traveling westbound on Blandville Road around 2:00 p.m. when her vehicle began to drift into the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons. The vehicle left the road and hit an embankment.

Carter was transported to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries and will be transported to an out-of-state hospital for further treatment.

Further investigation revealed that Carter was in possession of several pills, methamphetamine and marijuana.

Carter was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified), Possession of Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree, 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified) and Possession of Marijuana.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was assisted on scene by Concord Fire Department, Mercy EMS and Speedy’s Towing.
