MISSOURI (KFVS) - Missouri judges are hitting the road in 2019 for their “Have Gavel, Will Travel” initiative.

The judge’s tour is to boost the public’s understanding of the judicial system.

Judge’s will give presentations to those interested in learning more about the judicial branch of the government.

Schools, libraries, community and professional organizations, churches, clubs, and other community groups can request a judge to come and speak about how the judicial system works through the program.

“Judges are eager to go into communities throughout the state and discuss how our courts function and why. While judges cannot offer legal advice or weigh in on pending cases, they can provide a wealth of information about how our judicial system works and why it is the best in the world. We also need to be educating the next generations of informed, engaged citizens – and future lawyers and judges.”
Judge Ted House, 11th Judicial Circuit (St. Charles County
