ELIZABETHTOWN, IL (KFVS) - A southern Illinois lawmaker talked with school officials and deputies in Hardin County on Monday, January 28 concerning FOID and conceal and carry licences.
State Rep. Patrick Windhorst said he is looking into the issue.
According to the sheriff’s office, residents are having issues applying due to state police eliminating paper applications. Residents can only apply online.
Since state police upgraded a software program, the sheriff’s office says it automatically flags anyone with a rural route or box address mistaking it for a post office box.
Windhorst is also to speak with Sen. Dale Fowler about the issue.
