Overnight mobile home fire in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Fire officials in Cape Girardeau, Missouri got the call for a structure fire at 10:25 p.m. on N. Kingshighway.

They were called to the former Starview Trailer Park.

Officials said the first units at the scene found a partially disassembled trailer fully engulfed in flames.

Ice created slipping hazards for fire officials with temperatures around 26 degrees.

B Platoon responded to a call on N. Kingshighway at approximately 10:30 last night.

They took action to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby abandoned trailer and to overhead power lines.

Officials said there were no victims or casualties. The structure was vacant

The fire was contained to the trailer which collapsed in 15 minutes.

Crews stayed at the scene putting out hidden fires under the collapsed structure for about 45 minutes.

Officials said they finally left the scene around 11:59 a.m.

Cape Girardeau crews provided four engines, one ladder truck and a command vehicle with a total of 16 personnel.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
