DYERSBURG, TN (KFVS) - Police arrested two men after rape warrants were issued. They admitted they were in the country illegally, according to police.
Javier Nava Hernandez, 20, of Tiptonville, Tenn. and Jose Luis Rubio-Servin, 26, of Dyersburg, Tenn. were issued warrants following interviews by detectives.
Police responded to a healthcare facility on January 14 in connection to a sexual assault victim seeking treatment.
The woman told police she had been raped at an apartment in Dyersburg where a suspect lived. The woman said she knew the two men.
The men told the detectives they were in the country illegally.
Hernandez was taken into custody by the Lake Co. Sheriff’s Department at a restaurant he worked at in Tiptonville.
Rubio-Servin was taken into custody at at a restaurant he worked at in Dyersburg.
Police notified Immigration and Customs Enforcement about the men.
The men are being held in Dyer County pending a court appearance on January 22 at 9 a.m.
